Bringing Nanotechnology Closer to Electrical Engineers: Training Course Development for Upskilling in the METIS Project

The paper introduces two novel training modules in the field of nanotechnology and nanomaterials that are developed by the Department of Electronics Technology, Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME-ETT). The modules are being developed in the framework of the METIS (MicroElectronics Training, Industry and Skills) project and are intended to be used for the upskilling of electrical engineers. Besides the introduction of the project and the two training modules, the importance of nanotechnology for electrical engineers is also discussed through a practical example, nanopackaging, that directly connects nanotechnology with electronics packaging and system-integration.
