Power Converter Thermal Modeling Based on Experimental Parameter Identification

In this paper a modeling technique that describes the thermal behavior of a power converter is presented. The prediction is obtained by means of a simulation program, developed by the authors. A linear thermal model of the converter is extracted from measurements on the converter prototype. In the simulation process the thermal and electrical behavior are coupled and solved by an iterative approach. The approach was validated by measurements on the test prototype
