Ectopic Meningioma (Hamartoma) of the Middle Ear: A Challenging Case in Frozen Section

Meningiomas are one of the most frequent neoplasms of the central nervous system that account for nearly 24% to 30% of primary intracranial tumors. On the other hand, extracranial (ectopic) meningiomas have been reported in various anatomic sites; however, the degree of their occurrence is considered low (1). This case report highlights the importance of considering meningioma in the differential diagnosis of any mass in the head and neck region.
