Semi-conductor memory device comprising charge-pump and control method of the charge-pump

A semiconductor memory device comprising a charge pump and a method for controlling the charge pump are provided to prevent unnecessary current consumption by driving the charge pump efficiently when an equal command is inputted continuously. A semiconductor memory device comprises a memory cell array(400), a command interface(100), a control unit(200) and a charge pump(300). The command interface receives a command inputted from the outside, and outputs a command signal corresponding to the command and at least one flag signal indicating continuous operation period according as the command is a continuous operation command, by analyzing the received command. The control unit receives the command signal and the flag signal outputted from the command interface, and generates a pump control signal on the basis of the command signal and the flag signal. The charge pump generates a voltage required to read data from the memory cell array or write or erase data in the memory cell array in response to the pump control signal.
