Abstract In reference[1], definitions of controllability and observability of finite-dimensional deterministic discrete event system (FDDES) are proposed. We call them those of time-structural controllability and observability, as those definitions are based entirely on timed event graph[3]. They are not ready to be used in the study of time-structural properties of FDDES desbcribed by the pseudolinear “state space” model[2]. In this paper, necessary and sufficient conditions are given that are equivalent to those in [1], but based on the linear “state space” model hence the readiness of being used by means of computer in the study of time-structural property of FDDES.
