Farm systems assessment of bioenergy feedstock production: Integrating bio-economic models and life cycle analysis approaches

Highlights ► A modelling framework for managing energy and emissions trade-offs in agriculture. ► Combination of bio-economic process modelling and life cycle assessment. ► Captures financial, energy and emissions trade-offs and cereal straw use. ► The gross margin-energy trade-off is £36 GJ−1. ► All cereal straw is baled for sale when gross margin or net energy is maximised.
