Research on Effect of Image MTF and Stereo Positioning Precision by Simulation Method

The image quality of mapping camera in orbit is one of the key factors of the precision of satellite remote sensing mapping. The Modulation Transfer Function(MTF) reflects the relationship between spatial frequency and image contrast, which is an important indicator for quantitative evaluation imaging of remote sensing image.Research of quantitative effect in image MTF and accuracy of stereo positioning is an urgent task.As it is difficult to get mathematical relationship between them by theoretical analysis, digital simulation technology was used, including creation digital models of natural scene, geometric scene and the camera, simulation remote sensing imaging, degrade image by MTF curve, extract and match feature points, and forward intersection calculating. Then the relationship between image MTF and accuracy of stereo positioning was obtained. At last, experiments were taken with the real physical model to validate the digital simulation results.
