Eulminating rosacea conglobata (rosacea fulminans) and ulcerative colitis

Fttlminating rosacea conglob:ita (rosacea fulminans) and ulcerative colitis SIR. Rosacea lulminans is n rare distinctive entity of unknown aetiology first described by ()"Le:iry and Kierland' in 1S4(). under the designation pyoderma laL-iale. it is conlined to the face, covering most of the surface with fluctuant inllammatory nodules and papules which frequently fuse and form draining sinuses. In contrast to its previous designation, it is not a pyoderma. Recently, the disease has been interpreted as a malevolent variant ol" rosacea conglobata with sudden onset, which occurs almost exclusively in women well past adolescence."'^ In this report, a man wilh both rosacea fulminans and ulcerative colitis is described.
