Comparison between the load models with considering distribution network directly or indirectly

Two kinds of load models were compared in this paper, one is a classic load model (CLM) which could consider the effects of distribution network indirectly, and another is a synthesis load model (SLM) which could consider the effects of distribution network directly. In the aspect of initialization, two models have no nature difference. In the aspect of parameter determination, the parameters of SLM can not be determined with a single methodology, the composite impedance can be identified uniquely, and it is recommended to determine the equivalent distribution line impedance at first and then to identify the induction motor impedance. With measured results, the model parameters were compared, the results show that the composite impedance of CLM is mostly less than SLM, however, there is no definite rule for motor percentage between two models.
