Fish kills and physiochemical qualities of a crude oil polluted river in Nigeria.

The i mpact of a spi llage of Bonny light crude oil into the M iniahia eke fresh wat er i n t he Niger Delta regi on of Nigeria was investigated. Physicochemical parameters of the Freshwater were determined using s tandard analytical methods. Newly killed fish samples were collected close t o the p oint of spill and the crude oil concentration i n t he water was evaluated. The physicochemical and bi ological parameters showed reduction of dissolved oxygen content range from 0.21 to 4.48 mg 1 . The -1
