A note on the quadratic exponential binary distribution

SUMMARY The joint distribution of p binary variables is studied in the quadratic exponential form containing only 'main effects' and 'two-factor interactions' in the log probabilities. Approximate versions of marginalized forms of the distribution are studied based on Taylor expansion and a number of conclusions drawn.
