Investigation on Mechanics Model of Additional Longitudinal Forces Transmission Between Continuously Welded Rails and Bridges

When small resistance fasteners are laid on continuously welded rails of ballast track bridges, distinct relative displacements among the rail, the sleeper and the beam occur. However, the previous mechanics model in this aspect didnt take into account the influence of the displacement of the sleeper. Thus, there is obvious discrepancy between the theory and the practice cases. In this paper,a new mechanics model revealing additional longitudinal forces transmission between the continuously welded rails and the bridges is established, which takes into account the influence of the mutual relative displacement between the rail ,the sleeper and the beam.An example is presented and the results are compared. The results show that:The fastener resistance has a distinct influence on the additionallongitudinal forces transmission between continuously welded rails and bridges; the forceschange rapidly when the fastener resistance is low and changes slowly when the fastener resistance is high; the stiffness of the pier also has a distinct influence on the change speed of the additional longitudinal forces.
