800Gb/s Transmission Using Probabilistic Constellation Shaping and Digital Subcarriers

The combination of digital subcarrier multiplexing and probabilistic constellation shaping have emerged as the technology of choice when implementing optical transmission systems at the 800Gb/s. This manuscript reviews the digital signal processing techniques and benefits in fiber transmission.
