Jellyfish detection using wireless sensor networks

Detection of Jellyfish invasion needs an efficient comprehensive system to provide early warning to save the life of fishermen. In this paper, the problem of accurate detection of target region under oceanographic environment is studied. Underwater wireless sensor network (UWSN) provides promising solution to tackle such natural problems. The challenging task in UWSNs is to offer the trade-off between the estimation accuracy and the cost of communications. The mobile agent based data collection scheme is designed for detecting the target regions with minimum energy expenditure. The work achieves the significant reduction over number of transmissions which leads to reduce power consumption and provides a reliable and long life complete system for jellyfish detection.
