Rock Slope Stability Analysis Based on Meshless Method and Shortest Path Algorithm

A jointed rock slope stability analysis method was developed based on Element-free Galerkin method and Bellman-Ford shortest path algorithm.A weighted directed diagraph was constructed by interpreting the meshless model to graph model. The shortest path propagating from the source to end in diagraph was obtained, which represents the critical slip with the minimum safety factor. The major difference between those kinds of conventional searching methods and the presented method is that the latter does not assume the shape or mode of sliding surface. This advantage enables the method to analyze the sliding surface of complex slip joints combinations often seen in rock slope effectively. The theory, method and program implementation of the meshless-shortest path algorithm of graph theory were discussed in details. The numerical examples show the capability of the method in rock slope stability analysis.
