Optical system of the stream cipher based on the an one-dimensional five-neighborhood chaotic cellular automata

Proposes a new optical stream cipher for security applications based on the character of one dimensional five neighborhood chaotic cellular automata and the statistical test results of the sequence by this CA. The array structure of cellular automata suited for implement by VLSI and optical system. The multi neighborhood CAs have more complex behavior and in general they are potentially resistant cryptanalytical attacks. The simulation results show that: stream cipher's security is enhanced by using an one dimensional five neighborhood chaotic cellular automata, the modular structure of the algorithm is simple and higher speed. The direct cryptanalysis requires an exponentially growing amount of computational resources.
