이분산을 고려한 자동차-보행자 사고에서 보행자 사고 심각도

Walking is the most traditional and a fundamental mode of transportation. In fact, whenever people need trips, walking indispensably occurs. ln the United States, the number of pedestrians who were killed in pedestrian-vehicle crashes decreased 15% since 1994, but there were still 4,641 pedestrians killed and 68,000 pedestrians injured in traffic crashes in 2004 (NHTSA, 2004). These fatalities account for 10.7% of total fatalities by transportation mode (BTS, 2006). Therefore, pedestrian safety has become one of the key issues to improve traffic safety. For this reason, a significant amount of research has been done or is being carried out in order to understand pedestrian-vehicle crashes.
