Multistage implementation of up-sampling for improving time delay of arrival estimation

In this paper, the MIUS (multistage implementation of up-sampling) operation is applied in the GCC (generalized cross-correlation) method to improve the TDOA (time delay of arrival) estimation under the low sampling rate. Furthermore, a total interpolation factor and its optimal decomposition selection are discussed in this paper. Simulations demonstrate that the proposed method improves the accuracy of the TDOA in case of the low sampling rate, and the simplicity makes it helpful to real time implementation.
