Direct synchronized continuous and discontinuous PWM based on algebraic approach

This paper describes two developed versions of direct synchronized pulsewidth modulation (PWM) of output voltage of converters, based on one-stage closed-form strategy of PWM with pure algebraic control dependencies. It is applied to voltage source inverters with continuous scheme of digital PWM for control at low/middle fundamental frequencies of adjustable speed drive systems, and changed to a discontinuous scheme of synchronized vector PWM at higher fundamental frequencies of the drive system. Simulations give the behaviour of PWM techniques proposed.
