승합차의 Bullbar 부착에 대한 보행자 안전도 비교연구

This study investigates the positive and negative aspects of bullbar with regard to road trauma through assessment of the headfoam impact test and analysis of pedestrian crash. The experimental data showed that bullbars pose a great risk in the event of low speed impacts with unprotected road users such as pedestrians. All of steel bullbar tested have been shown to have a high risk of causing life threatening brain injuries in impacts with the head of children or serious injuries to the abdomen and chest of adults and taller children, even in low speed impact. Despite the fact that safety appears to be a major reason for fining bullbars, no results were found which attempted to quantify the safety benefits of bullbar.
