Nowadays, the diversity of terminal energy demand makes the distributed energy system (DES) characterized by energy stepwise usage become a highly potential energy-saving method. DES systems are fully developed in foreign countries but just in primary stage in China. This paper reveals some experimental results of a combined cooling, heating and power (CCHP) system, which mainly consists of a 100 kW microturbine and an absorption chiller. The results of testing in winter showed that the electrical efficiency varied from 20%∼29% and the total efficiency was from 65%∼80% while power output changed from 40 kW to 110kW; the data in summer indicated that the electrical efficiency varied from 18%∼26% and the total efficiency was from 60%∼65% while power output ranged from 35 kW to 75kW. Also, the transient pollutant emissions were studied and the experimental results showed that pollutant emissions of micro-turbine startup had significant impacts on total pollutant emissions, especially for CO.
