Microwave based wireless passive sensor: a promising candidate for harsh environment application

Microwave based wireless passive sensor holds many inherent advantages, such as high quality factor (Q), wireless passive transceiving, simple configuration, and multi-parameters sensing, in harsh environment application. In the paper, we concisely review the sensing technology and show its some applications in harsh environment. Its work mechanism, and wireless interrogation schemes are briefly presented based on microstrip patch antenna microwave wireless passive sensor, and also, future challenges and trends are proposed.
