Investment decision-making of power distribution transformers transformation based on Life Cycle Cost theory

In the power supply companies, investment in upgrading the distribution network is often concerned about the analysis of initial transformation investment. But the truth is that the operation and maintenance cost ignored has a greater proportion in the whole life cycle of electrical equipment, resulting in funds are not fully effective in the transformation of power distribution. In this paper, Life Cycle Cost decision-making theory used in the main substation equipment investment is applied to the middle-low voltage distribution networks. LCC model of distribution transformer is built. The principle of minimum LCC revamping of the distribution transformer selection is proposed and the method is used in the actual project. Compared with the traditional selection methods, LCC analysis method for investment decision-making selection of distribution transformers transformation provides a new idea to achieve distribution transformer LCC optimal in the life cycle and plays an active guiding role in the rational use of the distribution network construction and transformation investment in the future.
