 Currently, companies need to assess their exposure to risks due to the increasing dependence on global operation with suppliers, customers and other partners, and therefore, there is great interest in developing methods for operational risks assessment and Business Continuity Plans. In this context, this paper introduces a method for modeling and simulation of global supply chains focusing on disruption and resilient practices analysis. The method considers supply chains as discrete event systems and Petri net as the graphical and mathematical formal technique to supply chain modeling and simulation. The paper presents a hypothetic supply chain to explain the method application and assumes alternative suppliers negotiation as a resilient practice. Keywords Dispersed production system, Petri net, discrete event system, supply chain disruption, business continuity plan, supply chain resilience.
