Color sample search and custody equipment and method thereof

An apparatus and a method for searching and keeping a color sample are presented to register the keeping position of a sample using a barcode and to analyze the color of the corresponding color sample through a colorimeter and then to display the keeping position of the corresponding color sample. According to an apparatus for searching and keeping a color sample, a colorimeter(10) measures reflectivity and transmittance for color by irradiating a light to the color sample. A barcode reader(14) reads a barcode indicating the position of the corresponding color sample. A computer(12) outputs an LED driving control signal to inform the keeping position of the color sample. An LED driving part(16) turns on a corresponding LED by the LED driving control signal from the computer. A color sample keeping part turns on an LED of a corresponding region in order to indicate the position of the corresponding color sample among a number of LEDs by the LED driving part.
