A Territory Texture Mapping Algorithm Based on Area Ratio

3D territory models and texture mapping are both among the hot topics in computer graphics.They are also widely used in computer simulation.However, the existing mapping algorithms lack either efficiency or precision.By referencing some recent researches and applications,this paper compares and analyzes the existing mapping algorithms and presents an efficient mapping algorithm designed for large-scale territory with height-maps.It minimizes distortion by reserving the ratio of area in the mesh-space and territory-space based on the Divide and Conquer method.It is an useful and efficient method for territory texture mapping.
