The reliable operation of the vacuum circuit breaker has great influence on the safety of the power system, so it is essential to the assessment of the electric life state of the vacuum circuit breaker. Many characteristic parameters affect the electrical life of vacuum circuit breakers, and the influence of each characteristic parameter on the evaluation model of electrical lifetime is different. Therefore, the weight of the characteristic parameters of the electrical life of vacuum circuit breaker must be determined by a reasonable method, which is the precondition and guarantee of objectively establishing the electrical life status assessment model. Through in-depth study of the principle of AHP and gray relational analysis, this paper presents a method of weight determination based on combination of AHP and gray relational analysis, which comprehensively weighs the main characteristic parameters of the electrical life state of the vacuum circuit breaker from subjective and objective aspects. The result shows, the proposed method proposed in this paper is more reasonable and reliable than using a single indicator weighting method, and it lays the foundation for the establishment of the electrical life model of vacuum circuit breaker.
