Impact of moving to 100Gbps on the cost per bit of a USA national network

40 Gbps and 100 Gbps line rate transport networks can take advantage of hybrid electrical/optical network architectures that employ selective sub-wavelength grooming and optical bypass to achieve better wavelength utilization and lower overall network costs.
