Ordered water in macromolecular structure

Abstract A comprehensive and realistic knowledge of water-protein interactions contributes to our understanding of protein folding and structure-function relationships. This mini-review summarizes recent progress in experimental and theoretical research on how and why water is ordered at protein surfaces, and discusses issues related to the reliability of experimental results.
