Hurdles for an ubiquitous electric vehicle: The experiences of ELEVTRA Project

Electric vehicles are one of the major keystones on the development of a more sustainable society. However, nowadays there are a number of obstacles for the full development of the Electric Vehicles and their necessary infrastructure. These hurdles tend to slow down the implementation of a technology that from other aspects can be considered as mature. The ELEVTRA Project has been conceived as a response to some lacks detected in the electric vehicle market at present. This project-framed within the Lifelong Learning Programme of the European Union-identifies and addresses new training needs on the EV industry. The final outcome of this project is the development of a training programme focusing on the professional profile of specialist technicians for the maintenance and repair of electric vehicles and charging stations. This paper deals with the experience gained during the implementation of the project.
