Evaluation of Ricean K-factor of an ultra-wideband channel in an underground mine

This paper presents an evaluation of the Ricean K-factor of a ultra-wideband (UWB) propagation channel in an underground mine. LOS measurements are considered at level of 70 over a frequency range from 2 GHz to 10 GHz. The results are based on experimental data obtained during an extensive measurement campaign in the UWB frequency range. Based on the measured data, the Ricean K-factor of the underground mine is analysed and discussed.
