Study on selection of twist direction for wire ropes of mine hoists

After twist types and characteristics of wire ropes of the mine hoist being briefly introduced, the operation status of wire ropes of the single-roped winding hoist used in vertical shaft is analyzed in detail, and the principle of selecting the twist direction of wire ropes is discussed. The result shows that the twisting of wire ropes is loose and tightened due to its rotation; internal and external deflection angles, rope grooves of drum and rope grooves of head sheave have significant influences on the rotation of wire ropes, and the twist direction of wire ropes should be selected according to the specific operation condition of wire ropes.
