Software linearization techniques for thermocouples, thermistors, and RTDs

Abstract Software algorithms are available which can be used to replace electronic circuitry traditionally used to linearize the responses of thermocouples, thermistors, and resistance temperature detectors (RTD). These algorithms include techniques to compensate for deviations in the thermocouple reference junction temperature from 0°C and the conversion of thermoelectric voltages into equivalent thermocouple sensing junction temperatures. Algorithms are also available which can be used to linearize the output temperature-to-resistance responses of RTDs and thermistors.
