Performance validation of the Perez tilted surface irradiance model

Abstract The Perez tilted surface irradiance model has been tested against a sky radiance data set obtained at Calgary, Alberta, Canada (clean continental temperate climate). Using the model coefficients given by Perez the model performs satisfactorily. Some improvement in performance is achieved by using model coefficients generated from the Calgary data.
