A new single-inductor triple-output buck converter using CMOS technology

A new single-inductor triple-output (SITO) buck converter using CMOS technology is presented in this paper. A new time multiplexing scheme is also proposed for control. This SITO DC-DC buck converter uses only one inductor to provide three independent output voltages. The output voltages of 2.5V, 1.65V, and 0.8V are designed from a 3.6V power supply. A maximum efficiency of 77.4% is achieved at a total output power of 460mW, with a switching frequency of 1MHz. The proposed SITO buck converter circuit has been fabricated with TSMC 0.35μm 2P4M CMOS technology, and the active chip area including I/O pad is 1.53mm × 1.79mm.
