Delay-constrained VBR Sources in a Network

In this paper, we use the Network Calculus approach to address the problem of admission control for Leaky-Bucket constrained sources in a FIFO network. We derive optimal delay bounds for a separation scheme policy. For accumulation networks, we emphasize the diiculty of a worst case study due to the separation of the buuer space and maximum delay provision problems (as opposed to the single server case). Synchronization plays here an important role and we provide a thorough study of the two server case. The complexity of the analysis forbids any extension to a complete network, which implies the use of bounds.
