Intrusion Detection System for Hybrid DoS Attacks using Energy Trust in Wireless Sensor Networks

Abstract In order to improve the detection rate of hybrid DoS attack in wireless sensor networks, a node energy consumption analysis technique is used to establish an intrusion detection method based on the trust of node energy consumption. A hybrid DoS attack with normal energy consumption can’t effectively detected by the existing energy consumption prediction algorithm. Based on the energy consumption prediction algorithm, a power series correlation check is proposed. Experimental results show that when the network is attacked by hybrid DoS, the algorithm can improve the detection rate of malicious nodes, prolong the lifetime of network, and reduce the impact of hybrid DoS attack on network traffic effectively.
