The invention relates to a method and a device for processing short messages, which are used for improving the display type of short messages and facilitating a user to obtain multiple types of information. The method comprises the following steps of loading a menu page of the short messages; loading first controls in the menu page, wherein one first control corresponds to a message sender; loading second controls in the first controls, wherein each second control is the subcontrol of the corresponding first control, and corresponds to one short message of one message sender; loading the short messages in the second controls.
