Wireless automation using ZigBee protocols

The current automation industry uses WiFi or Bluetooth for wireless automation which has very high power consumption.[1] There are many wireless monitoring and control applications for industrial and home environments which require longer battery life, lower data rates and less complexity than those from existing standards. Our research project indicates that wireless automation using ZigBee protocols is beneficial to the industry as it has long battery life, has reliable and secure communication and also it supports 65000 nodes. Moreover the power consumption is very low for the ZigBee based sensor network. These features make it an apt option to create a wireless network of number of sensors and appliances and thus our research is an impetus to wireless automation.
