Calculation of Vertical Stress in Subgrade and Foundation Base Under Wheel Load

On the premise of the standard wheel loads,considering the variations of the non-standard traffic loads and the backfill density,the vertical stress in subgrade and foundation base are calculated under concentrated wheel load and distributed wheel load.Because of the compressive modulus difference between pavement material and subgrade backfill,the spread angles of stress are considered when calculating the vertical stress.When calculating the foundation base vertical stress under the subgrade center,the subgrade is regarded as strip foundation.The ideas and results of the calculation can provide a theoretical reference to verify the bearing capacity of the special filler(such as soft rock,weathered rock,artificial materials,etc.) under the special traffic loads(such as overloading).
