FULL SCALE MEASUREMENTS OF A SET OF YAW/SWAY MANOEUVRING Q- INDICES

The paper provides a methodology for full scale measurements of a set of yaw/sway manoeuvring Q-indices. In the past, the basic properties of the Q-indices have been presented as an alternative measure of ship's manoeuvrability. To simplify the understanding of the paper, a brief presentation of the Q-indices is included. Finally, case studies illustrate how the proposed methodology can be put into practise.
