Teaching electromagnetic fields with integrated engineering software

Summary form only given. Due to the high level of interest from many universities an educational package was developed. This package is aimed specifically at the special needs of the undergraduate student, with its user-friendly interface, high accuracy, low computer requirements, faster computing time and visualization capability. The author demonstrates the programs' applications in the simulation of electric and magnetic problems found in many undergraduate textbooks. The many advantages of the boundary element method is illustrated, which include a short learning curve, simple modelling with minimal data input, computational accuracy and a wide range of applications.<<ETX>>
