Impact of d-Li source and (n,xγ) reaction gammas on the nuclear responses in the IFMIF test modules

McDeLicious code is now the standard computational tool for nuclear analyses of the International Fusion Material Irradiation Facility (IFMIF). It has been further enhanced by taking into account the sampling of primary gammas based on the use of evaluated d-Li cross-section data. The assessment of nuclear responses produced by primary and secondary gamma-rays, in comparison with the source neutrons, has shown that they will increase the nuclear heating in the materials lying downstream the d-Li source up to 10% and even by several times in the opposite direction. The contribution of photons to the atom displacement damage and gas production turns out to be not significant.
