Using "Scaled Credit Payback" to Achieve Soft-fairness for Disruptive Radios in CSMA Networks

In this work, we propose a scaled credit payback mechanism to mitigate the impact of such disruptions. In general, the active channel access time for disruptive stations depends on their disruption profiles (i.e., frequency, duration). The goal of our work is to allow disruptive stations to obtain their desired share of transmission opportunities despite their disruption profiles. Using the credit payback mechanism, credits are saved during channel access procedures when disruptions occur and they are used to compensate the lost transmission opportunities of disruptive stations to an appropriate degree. Below, we elaborate on the system model and the proposed scaled credit payback algorithm.
