Environment - Healthy Rivers - Myth or Must?

It is appropriate to at last focus on the environment when considering the Snowy scheme, because it has rarely been considered adequately in the planning and management of the system over the last 50 years. It is certain that the scheme would not have been built in its present form under current planning processes. It is interesting to observe that this push for integrated thinking has not come from the various disciplinary specialists but from articulate and aware community groups that are demanding a better result of our water management activities.
