REVIEW OF AERODYNAMIC NOISE IN TURBOMACHINERY

The advances and current state of the aerodynamic noise in turbomachinery are reviewed in terms of noise generation mechanism,numerical prediction and control method,respectively.Firstly,the theoretical development of noise generation mechanism is summarized in terms of discrete noise and broadband noise, in which the discrete noise consists of self noise and interaction noise,and the broadband noise comprises noises induced by flow distortion,blade tip clearance flow,viscous wake flow and vortex shedding.Then, the advancements of noise numerical prediction are reviewed based on the sound analogy.Thirdly,the noise control methods are presented in terms of active noise control,blade wake management,uneven blade control and porous surface control.Finally,achievements of researches on aerodynamic noise in turbomachinery are summarized and prospect is outlined.
