Fast steering mirror design and performance for stabilization and single-axis scanning

The design requirements for fast steering mirrors (FSMs) are presented in terms of specifications. An FSM design methodology is presented based on these specifications, including mirror mechanism design, servomechanism considerations, mirror linearization, and mirror-reaction mass structure.
