On the performance of a medium access control scheme for the reconfigurable wireless networks

We propose a MAC protocol for an ad-hoc network architecture, termed the reconfigurable wireless networks, and investigate its network capacity. We discuss the access synchronization and the construction of the network connections features of the MAC protocol. Using event-driven simulation, we evaluate the performance of the scheme demonstrating its behavior for different mobility and traffic parameters, and examine propagation models.
