Safety restraints for children in automobiles: who uses them?

Significant relationships between the reported use of safety restraints for children in automobiles have been observed with the following characteristics of the family: education , income , religion , and stress. Mother's age is only related to use by children under 10 years. High-risk families, reported non-users , are most often those with less education, lower income, of Catholic religion, and older mothers of young children. Use is also less among those subject to high stress. Implications of these findings for health education are discussed.
