Innovative Approaches to Teaching Technical Communication is divided into three sections, each consisting of six chapters. The titles of the three sections—“Pedagogical perspectives,” “Pedagogical practices,” and “Pedagogical partnerships”—give the first clue that the text is written and edited by academicians, for academicians. The editors give another clue about the book’s focus in the following passage: The editors of this collection are convinced that the techniques, approaches, technologies, and assignments suggested in this volume will transfer to programs across the disciplinary spectrum. Teachers in all these programs will find the materials described in this volume quite valuable. [p. 4]
